Review: Mart Dictionary is an application that provides a dictionary and translation service between a large number of languages. It includes a few useful options, designed for all types of users. The interface is made from a standard window, where you can select the source and output language, as well as enable the autodetect feature. Mart Dictionary shows a list of suggestions when writing a search term in the dictionary module, includes a spellchecker and text-to-speech tool, and looks for the dictionary meaning when triggering a hotkey on text in external word processors. Furthermore, you can manage installed dictionaries, select the spellchecker language, enable Mart Dictionary to automatically run at system startup and to stay on top of other windows, disable auto-completion, clear the history of terms, as well as modify the default font size. The application is pretty light on the system resources, using a minimal quantity of CPU and memory. It has a good response time and quickly translates text. No error dialogs have been shown in our tests, and the app did not hang or crash. Unfortunately, Mart Dictionary has not been updated for a while. |
