Review: MP3 to WAV Converter is a software with a pretty self-explanatory title - it allows you to encode MP3 files to the WAV format and viceversa. The interface of the program is a bit outdated, but easy to navigate through. Audio tracks can be imported into the list by using either the file browser or drag and drop method. Batch conversions are allowed. In the queue you can check out the source path, size, original format and status of each file. After you specify the output extension and method (convert all files, only those checked or only those highlighted), you can establish the destination folder and proceed with the conversion process. During this time you can view the source and output location, total number of finished tasks, elapsed time, as well as a progress bar for the current file and all of them. In Options you can configure audio settings for MP3s (e.g. encoding method, frequency, CBR bit rates and quality level, channels) and WAVs (sampling rate, channels, bits), set the path for the input folder, MP3 and WAV output target, and change program colors (e.g. menu, file list). On top of that, you can enable MP3 to WAV Converter to open the output folder after converting, transfer ID3 tags when converting MP3 to MP3, to automatically rename files with the same name, and more. Settings can be restored to their default values. The simplistic software requires a low-to-moderate amount of system resources, contains a comprehensive help file with snapshots and manages to preserve a very good sound quality. We haven come across any major issues during our tests. In one case, the app didn manage to convert an MP3 file to WAV (although it said the conversion was a success). Nevertheless, we strongly recommend MP3 to WAV Converter to all users. |
