Review: Instant Password Finder is a lightweight and portable application that shows you lost or forgotten passwords which are saved by your computer or web browsers, and are hidden under asterisks. Is is very simple to work with, as it doesn comprise any configuration settings. Since installation is not a requirement, you can drop the executable file anywhere on the hard disk and click it to run. There is also the possibility of saving Instant Password Finder to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any workstation with minimum effort. Whats important to keep in mind is that the Windows Registry is not updated with new entries, and leftover files are not kept on the hard disk after removing the utility. At initialization, Instant Password Finder creates an HTML report, saves it in the same directory as the executable file, and opens it in your default web browser, revealing passwords detected on your system. The app offers support for Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo!, Microsoft Outlook, autocomplete passwords, website logons, and others. Unfortunately, the tool has not been updated for a long time, and it does not work properly on newer operating systems. Furthermore, it cannot be password-protected, so make sure to keep it away from unauthorized users. All in all, Instant Password Finder finds passwords quickly and without error. |
